Comes the period of year when the whales pass by the coasts of Panama in their annual migration route. Whale-watching becomes more and more popular in Panama. This is truly magnificent experience! Ann Gordon from whalewatchingpanama.com organizes tours and she says that normally the good time to do that is until last days of October.
Most of tours are organized from Pearl Islands (Las Perlas) which are accessible by ferry or plane. However, there is also Coiba National Park and the peninsula Azuero ,which are remote, but accessible by car. Humpback whales are the mammals which make the longest migration from Northern water of the Arctic to the warm and calm waters of Panama, where they mate and produce offspring.
Fun Fact: the Humpback whales don't eat the entire three months that they are in Panama. They are completely occupied raising their babies.
