Next February, 2016 Turkish airlines begin operations between Panama City and Istanbul with the initial frequency of three weekly flights.
The flight to Panama arrives at 19:00 local time and return flight is scheduled for 21:00 leaving to Istanbul. The flight will take about 13 hours according to official sources.
Turkish airlines will commence their flights about the same period when Lufthansa and Emirates will offer their flights. Earlier we already wrote about the plans of Emirates to open the longest non-stop flight from Dubai to Panama City. So far the longest existing flight is offered by Australian Qantas, which a direct route between Sydney and Dallas with more than 17 hours in the air.
The new flights will add about 10% to annual traffic growth for Tocumen, and with the opening of the new terminal that can be an important contribution. Each year Tocumen International Airport achieves higher traffic and service standards and has already become a truly important hub for both Americas and Europe.
