Tocumen International Airport, has been chosen as the “Best Airport in Central America” and “Best Airport Staff” in the World Airport Awards by Skytrax in Paris, a company which does research and consultancy for airports on the international level.
The awards are based on the results of 13 million passengers interviews in 550 airports and 112 countries. The researched issues vary greatly, that includes: airport access, transport connections, comfortness, cleanliness and safety measures, among others, states the report.
Joseph Fidanque, general manager of Tocumen International, commented on the topic: “I feel grateful and proud. With more than 8.4 million passengers who used the airport in 2014, Tocumen is recognized for its quality of services, variety of restaurants and shops by different dealers, airlines and highly qualified staff”.
“With two awards by Skytrax, we demonstrate our efforts to provide fine services and our constant pursuit of excellence and high quality of everything that we do for the airport”, added Fidanque.
Skytrax has been a research and investigation agency for the airline industry for a long time. Since 1999 feedback the company has carried out hundreds of surveys for millions of passengers from airports all around the world using unique form of questionnaire and other analytical methods. Based on the questionnaires, agency established Word Airport Awards which are the major quality awards for the world airport industry.
In August 2014, Tocumen International was also awarded “Leading Airport in Mexico and Central America” during World Travel Awards.
