The first metro cars to be delivered to Panama

The first of 19 trains of the future first in Central America subway line will arrive to Panama May 25.

The first line will be 13,7 km long and contain 12 stations, five of which will be underground. The trains are delivered by French Alstom and will have capacity of 250 passengers. Overall there will be 250 subway cars delivered for the first line. The rest of the trains will arrive to Panama until the end of the year.

The trains will be assembled and kept in Albrook depot, where at the moment final works on tracks and tunnels are being made. The Administration of Metro says that daily traffic of passengers is estimated at 525,000 per day, i.e. more than 18,000 per hour.
