Around 11 a.m. on Friday April 4 the new airport of Scarlett Martinez in Rio Hato welcomed its first charter flight, thus officially opening the air operations. The plane arrived from Canada bringing its passengers for their tropical vacation.
The flight brought 176 tourists who bought tours from Sunwing Vacation. The company is a part of TUI multinational which is the biggest tourism operator in its kind around the world.
There are no doubts that the new airport will be the key point in the development of the region. It will significantly affect the tourism potential of the region and will help to open.
