Last year Panama had more than 230,000 sq. meters of constructed office space. Which makes this country one of the most dynamic markets of commercial and office real estate. The countries with better rate are only Mexico and Brazil, where during last years there were more than 250,000 space constructed annually.
According to a market survey conducted by American company Jones Lang La Salle (JLL), the amout of office space is directly reflected on the commercial activity in the country. JLL also claims that the production of office space shows a high correlation with macroeconomic indicators.
Among most rapidly developing markets in Latin America are Mexico, Brazil, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Costa Rica. Investors from the U.S. often find Panama a good market because of the incentive provided by government. JLL gives an example of 2007 law, when new rule for multinationals greatly simplified any establishment in Panama. The aim of these reforms is to create jobs and technology transfer, as well as enhancing the competitiveness of the economy, simplifying the process of employment of foreign experts in the management company.
