During the first three months of 2015 Foreign Direct Investment to Panama has reached $1705.8 million.
According to Wikipedia, a foreign direct investment (FDI) is a controlling ownership in a business enterprise in one country by an entity based in another country.
The amount of investment which Panama has managed to attract current year is already $415.5 million higher than the same figure reported similar period last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) of the Comptroller General Republic.
The investment is mainly flows into the sectors of hotels and tourism, banking, real estate, energy, commercial and manufacturing.
Besides, companies and corporations located in Colon Free Zone contribute significantly totaling $123.7 million, which is 17% increase comparing the last year.
