Emirates recently announced that the service to Panama City will commence from February 1, 2016.
The spokesman of the airline said that they will organize the longest in the world flight from Dubai to Panama City (total 17 hours and 35 minutes). The second sensational fact is that it will become the first “Gateway” from Middle East to Central America.
The flight will be operated daily from Tocumen International (PTY) with the use of Boeing 777-200LR aircraft.
Besides passengers the aircraft will carry up to 15 tons of cargo weight. The Emirates expect that companies will import to Panama electronics, machinery, pharmaceuticals and other merchandise.
“Panama City is the first airport to be connected with Dubai global hub, which will become very convenient for all passengers traveling the world from Caribbean, Central and South America”, said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, CEO of Emirates Airline and Group.
"We are also pleased to be the only commercial airline to offer first class service for travelers daily in what will be longest nonstop flight in the world." he added.
The flight EK251 will be departing Dubai daily at 8:05 a.m. and arrive to Panama at 4:40 p.m. The returning EK252 flight will leave Tocumen International at 10:10 p.m. and arrive to Dubai at 10:55 p.m. on the following day. Tickets can already be purchased on the Emirates website and in the travel agencies.
