Cinta Costera Phase 3 to Be Opened Soon

 

It is expected that next part of Cinta Costera project, with its phase over the waterfront will be ready soon. The project aims to encourage the development of those districts of the city that historically been behind – El Chorillo, Barraza, and San Felipe.

Four years ago the Brazilian developer Odebrecht won the construction and maintenance tender for the third phase of Cinta Costera with the offered price of $ 776 million. The new viaduct with sidewalks and parks aims to connect Avenida Balboa with the districts mentioned above.

This part of the project is part of the big plan of general improvement of the infrastructure of the city, which has targeted to improve the road connections by 32%. The works on Cinta Costera include two pedestrian bridges, and a volleyball court with international standards. The residents of Panama city will also see 840 new parking spaces for easier access to the embankment and a big area for restaurant and other leisure facilities.
