The economy of the entire region of Latin America will decline by 0.5% in 2016. While Panama, a small country in Central America, will be the only one with extraordinary growth of its GDP. This is according the recent report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
An IMF report states that Latin America is currently experiencing the most difficult times since 1982, mostly due to the decline in Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina.
However, Panama, doesn’t follow similar trend. The IMF expects its GDP to increase b 6.1 and 6.4 percent in 2016 and 2017 accordingly.
Panama currently is the country with the fastest growing economy in Latin America largely because of its source of income as a Canal and its Expansion and the influence of the U.S.
