Panama is a central hub for data storage and processing

Many companies in the sector with data services have invested close to quarter billion dollars to establish their company in Panama, reports La Prensa.

The companies choose to locate in here because of solid information and communication infrastructure. The government is doing necessary steps to make sure that the country is up-to-date in information technologies and thus will remain a key player in the industry. A recent very ambitious program is providing free wireless Internet to the population from border to border.

Currently Internet Penetration in Panama stays at 46%, which is one the highest results in Latin America. Such results encourage companies to improve their broadband structure. Geographic position and its political and economic stability are other factors of attractiveness of Panama. For these reasons, such giants as Cable&Wireless, Kio Networks and Telefonica have chosen Panama for establishment of their data storage and processing centers.
