Statistical data shows that the rental occupation rate in the sector of logistics and relative industry sectors remains very high in the capital of Panama, East of it and in the districts along the canal.
Totally, in the Greater Panama City there were 538,987 sq. meters built and more 214,625 sq. meters remain under construction. In the eastern regions, such as Tocumen and southern corridor along Highway Pan-American Highway 218,182 sq. meters have been built and 115,803 sq. meters under construction
Major activity is going on around the Airport and its facilities, which are constantly being upgraded due to investments and motivation of key players in the market. A chance to be closer to the central hub in Central America is full of opportunities.
The report states very high occupation rate in this sector is extremely high – at 86%. Most of objects currently are being built on the presumption of high future demand. Basing on such data, it is expected that we can expect new projects to come to the market until the end of this year.
Daniel Isaza, the President of the CBRE Panama is claiming that total investments in the logistic sector of Panama have amounted to more than $120 million. However, there are warehousing units that offer similar services, but they are not registered as logistics parks, thus the real investments into the sector could be underestimated.
General Director of CBRE Panama, Ramon Roux, in his turn, says that demand is continuing to grow and remains high as a result of booming economy and huge interest from international giants in Panama.
