Panama as one of the centers of cinema in Latin America

Just as the skyscrapers are filling the horizon of Panama city,  the new cinema center will soon open its doors and begin its rapid development here. Panama already has its reputation of “Dubai” of Latina America, and the new incentive for film producers should attract them even harder. Panama is going to return 15% of the funds invested in film production on its territory.

Same construction workers that today are busy on general sites can be just as easily employed for building film stages. The new cinema center will contain four pavilions and several office buildings on a total area of 20-30 hectares.

“Panama is truly a center of Latin America” , says one of the directors in charge of cinema center development. “It has international airport with connection to all major cities in Americas and Europe, economy is stable and dollar as a local currency makes it even easier to work here”. According to the official, one of the main targets will be to organize education and promotion of local film directors and other staff, which Panama currently lacks in film production industry.
