$28 million in leaks

$28 million have been allocated for a project for water reduction leaks by the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewer Systems.

During the project there will be installed 38 control points with regulators and pressure and water flow glow gauges. The system will operated on 24/7 basis, which will allow preventing breakages and leaks from the water pressure.

The official from National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewer Systems, Juan Jose Amado III said that the system will prevent leakage but the major problems are caused by the irresponsible consumers. They are responsible for losses estimated at $24 million since 2006.
