Moving to Panama

There are several types of visas which one may apply in Panama. Each of them has different requirements and benefits. We ask you to contact us for any additional details.   1. Self Economic Solvency

Requirements: $300,000 deposit for 3 years in local bank or similar investments in the real estate; or any of such combinations.

Benefits: Permanent residency, future right for Panamanian passport after 8 years.

  1. Retiree (Pensionado)

Requirements: Retiree (Pensionado) must receive a Pension (private or public) of at least $1,000/ month.

Benefits: Permanent Residency, duty free auto/ household and senior citizen discounts.

  1. Large investor

Requirements: Applicant must invest $160,000 in business in Panama and hire min. five Panamanian employees.

Benefits: Permanent residency, future right for Panamanian passport after 8 years.

  1. Reforestation investor

Requirements: Applicant must invest $80,000 in a reforestation lot in Panama

Benefits: Permanent residency, future right for Panamanian passport after 8 years.

  1. Second passport

Requirements: 5 year deposit in the local bank. The deposit create at least $ 850.00 in interests per month.

Benefits: Passport for travel, renewable every 5 years

  1. Friendly countries visa

Requirements: Applicants must support an economical (business) or professional (labor contract) link to Panama. Applicants must be the residents of the countries in a “friendly list”.

Benefits: Immediate permanent residency with the option of permanent work permit.

  1. Labor residency

Requirements: Applicant must be employee by a company within the 10% of 15% (technicians) on the payroll.

Benefits: After the preliminary 2 years residency and work permit the applicant  has a right for permanent residence.

  1. Free trade zone investors

Requirements: Applicant that invest in free trade zone areas or call center. The investment amount vary upon the free trade area.

Benefits: Permanent residency, future right for Panamanian passport after 8 years.

  1. Professional activities

Requirements: Applicants must hold a university degree for a professional activity not limited

Benefits: After the preliminary 2 years residency and work permit the applicant is entitle to obtain a permanent residency.
